When I was in 8th grade I was a part of the Thespian Council and occasionally we would meet before school. One day one of my friends came in having dreamed about Robocop the Musical. Being the kind of guy I am, I made it a reality. The oldest script I have is V. 3 which was made less than a month after the first, consisting of tons of original songs, a plot that didn’t make sense, and a bunch of songs just thrown at the wall. Act two was evil not having a coherent plot and just being random characters singing random songs. It was trash and eventually would become a joke, one that would follow me for years. Later in 2021 while I was recording some gaming videos with friends Brandon brought up the idea of bringing Robocop the Musical back as a radio show, and after some peer pressure, I gave in. Ultimately I forgot about this until I revisited that video in January 2024 and I knew what I needed to do, get to work on Robocop the Musical: The Movie. I feel this movie shows a clear progression from Alex-Point showing how much I have already improved as a filmmaker and artist. With a tighter script, more unique and impressive shots, proper production team with assistant directors, DP, and boom mic operator, this time I had an Idea of what I was doing! Overall I think this film is hilarious and I wish it wasn’t built off of copyrighted characters so I could submit it to festivals. While I do see this film as a parody and satire of Hollywood that just happens to use these characters (parody and satire are considered fair use), I could still be knocked down anytime if the studios wanted.
